Sage 100 Contractor v18, v19 Transition Considerations

In recent years, Sage has made the New Year’s tax tables available only in the most recent version of the program. This year, they are breaking with tradition –
the tax tables will be available in version 18.3 and version 19.2!
The mid-January update included eight (8) more states and Puerto Rico.

Now the question is, when to upgrade and to which version. Find the sentence below that best describes your use of Sage 100 Contractor and follow the recommendations. Before the recommendations, we have a short list of other considerations when preparing for your upgrade to version 19

  • Do you have other custom programs that use Sage 100 Contractor data such as Syscon Over/Under Billing report, Syscon Union report, Syscon Direct Deposit, any software that provides paperless routing of documents, Estimating integrations, etc.? Be sure the software is compatible with Sage 100 Contractor version 19
  • The 2013 year end journal adjustments may not yet be available to enter; these will need to be posted
    before
moving to Sage 100 Contractor version 19
  • Syscon is hosting several webinars to help our clients become familiar with the yearend process changes between previous versions of Sage 100 Contractor (formerly Master Builder) and the version 19 release; watch for the dates and times in April 2014

Here are three common scenarios you may be considering for the transition from version 18 to 19 – click the appropriate scenario for our recommendations.

Running version 18.x, run Payroll through Sage 100 Contractor, Fiscal close between 10/31/13 and 1/31/14 (have not received Journal Adjustments, but have created yearend archives)

Running version 18.x, no Payroll through Sage 100 Contractor, Fiscal close between 10/31/13 and 1/31/14 (have not received Journal Adjustments, but have created yearend archives)

Running version 17.x, run Payroll through Sage 100 Contractor, Fiscal close between 10/31/13 and 1/31/14 (have not received Journal Adjustments, but have created yearend archives)
