Support and Software Updates Policies for Syscon Software Tools that are Compatible with Sage Master BuilderSoftware Maintenance and UpdatesActive Syscon products are updated on a periodic basis with updates, enhancements, and new features. Many times, these updates are necessary to comply with new requirements to work with Sage Master Builder data sets effectively and efficiently. Each update of a specific program is identified with a new release number such as 1.2.4 or 2.5.3. There is no annual maintenance fee for Syscon Software products that are sold through our website and Syscon partners. As updates are made available, users may optionally choose to purchase the update based on their specific needs, requirements, and objectives. Many clients have used the same tool for years without any incremental updates, despite multiple releases of Master Builder. Others will update in order to take advantage of a new feature in the Syscon product. In some cases, a user must update in order to maintain compatibility between their Syscon product and the version of Master Builder that they are running. All updates are free of charge for one year from the purchase date for any Syscon Software tool. A maintenance release is designated with a change in the third segment of the version number. For instance 2.7.1 to 2.7.2 is a maintenance release of a product version 2.7. Any user of a licensed product version 2.7 may download and install a maintenance release free of charge. A minor release is designated with a change in the second segment of the version number. For instance, version 2.7.x to 2.8.x is a minor release of product version 2. Any user of a licensed product version 2.7 may purchase any minor release upgrade of the product for 20% of the current retail price. As an example, if the user of the Combined AR-SR Management Tool version 2.7 upgrades to the current version 2.10, and the retail price of version 2.10 is $500, the cost for the upgrade will be $100. A major release is designated by a change in the first segment of the version number. For instance, version 2.x.x to version 3.x.x is a major release of the product. Any user of a licensed product version 2.x.x may purchase the next major release upgrade of the product for 40% of the current retail price. There is no upgrade path for major releases beyond one revision. For example, there is no upgrade price from version 2.x to 4.x. In this case, version 4.x.x is available at the current retail price. Syscon will, at its sole discretion, determine the level of a release (major.minor.maintenance). Syscon may also from time-to-time determine that a software product will no longer be maintained. In this case, Syscon will make an attempt to inform users of the product that the software has reached end-of-life and will no longer be maintained. Technical support can be obtained from Syscon directly. Payment through a credit card is required at the time of support. Technical support is charged in 15 minute increments at $50 per 15 minutes.
